Serpento

Serpento
Fullscreen

Serpento takes the familiar snake formula — steer, eat, grow, don’t hit yourself — and stretches it across 24 distinct levels instead of one endless arena. Each level asks you to clear every piece of fruit scattered across the field before an exit opens; only then can you steer your now much longer snake through it to finish the stage. Later levels swap the open lawn layout for narrower, maze-like spaces, and add obstacles such as teleport pits and jumping frogs that force you to plan a few moves ahead rather than just react. The game offers a choice of control schemes and speed settings, so you can adjust the pace to match how comfortable you are with tighter corners.

How to play Serpento

1. Use the arrow keys (or your chosen control scheme) to steer your snake around the level.
2. Guide the snake over every piece of fruit on the field to clear it.
3. Avoid crashing into your own tail, the walls, or obstacles like teleport pits and frogs.
4. Once all the fruit is collected, an exit opens — steer your snake into it to complete the level.
5. Work through all 24 levels, each one adding new layouts and hazards.

Tips

  • Plan your route around the fruit rather than eating whatever is closest — a longer snake is harder to turn cleanly in tight corners, so an efficient early path saves you from boxing yourself in later. In levels with teleport pits, notice where each one leads before you rely on it to escape a tight spot, since an unfamiliar teleport can just as easily drop you into new danger.
