Speen

Speen
Fullscreen

Speen builds its entire identity around one mechanic done well: two circles, one orbiting the other, and a single action — tap to swap which one is the pivot and which one swings. That’s the whole control scheme, and the game spends its full runtime finding new ways to make that one decision matter.

Momentum is your only real weapon. Swing your orbiting circle through green pickups to fill one meter, plant your standing circle on pink pickups to fill another, and use a charged swing to smash through spike balls or rival spinners who are trying to do the exact same thing to you. Filling both meters and taking down a boss bumper unlocks home decorations — a light meta-progression layer sitting on top of the core loop.

Where it gets genuinely different from anything else in the genre is the shared multiplayer world once you’re past the early unlocks: painting territory, dueling other real players, and chasing achievements in a space you’re not fighting alone in. The one-button premise makes it deceptively approachable, but reading momentum and timing your pivot swap against another player raises the ceiling fast.

How to play Speen

Tap or click to swap which circle is the pivot and which one swings around it — that's the entire control scheme. Swing your orbiting circle through green pickups and plant your standing circle on pink pickups to fill two meters, then use a charged swing to smash spike balls, rival spinners, and boss bumpers.

Controls

  • Left mouse button / tap Swap which circle is pivoting versus swinging

Tips

  • Read your momentum before swapping — a swap timed against your swing's arc sends you somewhere very different than one timed at the top or bottom
  • Fill both meters before attempting a boss bumper; a half-charged swing usually isn't enough to break through
  • In the shared multiplayer world, watch other players' pivot timing — good opponents bait you into swapping at the wrong moment
  • Don't chase every pickup on screen; a clean, deliberate path through two or three beats a frantic grab at everything
