Golf Orbit

Golf Orbit
Fullscreen

Golf Orbit takes the sport and removes all the politeness from it. You’re a golfer who has somehow ended up with far more strength than is reasonable, on a course full of equally unusual golfers, and the goal is to send the ball as far as physics and the power meter will allow.

The core mechanic is a fluctuating power meter. You click to stop the needle, and where it lands decides how far and how high the ball goes. Land it in the green zone and you get maximum power. There’s a separate putting control for when you’re close to the hole, where you hold and drag to set your direction instead. Trees, bunkers and water all kill the ball’s momentum the moment it touches them, so the flight path matters as much as the initial hit.

Coins and gems earned from distance feed into a genuinely large unlock system: 24 different golfer characters, each with their own appearance and clubs, plus three maps covering Earth, Mars and a Rainbow Planet. There’s a free lucky wheel spin for bonus coins and ball colours too.

The detail worth knowing is that landing the ball in the hole for a birdie triples your reward. So pure distance isn’t always the best play, which gives the game more depth than a single-mechanic launcher usually has.

How to play Golf Orbit

Click the left mouse button to stop the power meter at the strength and angle you want, then watch the ball fly. When you're near the hole, hold the left mouse button and drag the cursor to aim your putt, then release. Trees, bunkers and water stop the ball on contact. Spend the coins and gems you earn on new golfers, upgrades and maps from the main menu.

Controls

  • Left mouse button Stop the power meter to hit
  • Hold left mouse button and drag Aim a putt, release to strike

Tips

  • Stop the meter in the green zone for maximum power; anything else costs you real distance
  • Go for the hole rather than pure distance when you're close, since a birdie triples your reward
  • Watch for trees, bunkers and water, which stop the ball dead the instant it touches them
  • Spend early coins on power upgrades before cosmetic characters, since distance is what earns more coins
  • Use the free lucky wheel spin every time it's available
