Saguaro

Saguaro

Saguaro is a cactus who likes jogging, owns a good hat, and lives in a world unreasonably full of balloons. That’s the setup, and it’s as cheerful as it sounds — bright Mexican-inspired colors, maracas, and a health system that’s genuinely clever once you notice it.

Instead of hearts or lives, Saguaro has his stuff. Hit a balloon and he doesn’t die — he loses something he loves: the hat, a maraca, his gear, one item per mistake. Run out of things to lose and the run is over. Glowing maracas appear along the way, and grabbing one restores a lost item and feeds your score, which sets up the game’s best decision: sometimes it’s worth deliberately taking a balloon to the face because the path through it leads straight to a maraca.

Balloons drift in suddenly and from any direction, so the arrow keys get a real workout. Simple to start, sneaky-hard to last long in, and easily the most charming game in this section.

How to play Saguaro

Move Saguaro with the arrow keys and weave around the balloons drifting into his path. Each balloon you touch costs one of his items — lose them all and the run ends. Grab the glowing maracas to restore a lost item and boost your score.

Tips

  • Stay near the middle of the screen — balloons come from any direction and edges cut your escape routes
  • A glowing maraca is worth a detour; it's both a life and points
  • Sometimes eating one balloon on purpose is the right play, if the path through it reaches a maraca
  • The pace creeps up quietly — the run that kills you is the one where you stopped noticing
